Vacation Bible School
Dates Announced---
Save the first week in August (Monday, August 4th – Friday, August 9th) for Manakin’s Vacation Bible School.
Manakin’s VBS “ Listen Up, Messages from God” will be held the first week in August (Monday 8-4 through Friday 8-9). “ Listen Up” uses Drama, Worship and Activities to reveal the messages of the prophets: Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Amos and Daniel.
The children will learn about the Old Testament prophets through worship, drama, music and activities. If you are interested in helping with and/or planning this event, please contact Lucinda Stevens or leave a message at the church office.
The memory verse for the week is Isaiah 61:1-3. We can all get a head start by learning it early.
We need your help and support for Vacation Bible School in many ways:

Adults and youth to “shepherd” the children from activity to activity

Registrars
-
People to provide and serve snacks

Game leaders
-
Craft leaders

Readers, speakers and prop people for our daily Drama for Worship.
Our logo for Listen Up, Messages from God is the “tin–can telephone,” and the Biblical focus is the Old Testament Prophets. We need cans for our “phones” (a box will be provided in the Parish Hall). We also need “props” that either represent Biblical times or the concept of getting the message out like walkie-talkies, scrolls, defunct cell-phones, carrier pigeons—let your imaginations run wild!
